Incorporated in 1961, Fordoche is the youngest of 4 municipalities in the parish. It is a bedroom community that does not have many businesses or a major thoroughfare. However, our successes are measured by a different measuring stick that some may take for granted. A strong family bond actually related or not, is what makes Fordoche and its citizens unique and a great community to raise a family. A strong sense of pride in our community, the willingness to lend a helping hand to our neighbors of a successful community. Those traits are why the citizens of our town are proud to say thay they are from Fordoche Louisiana!
